Elia Suleiman takes his cinematic alter ego from Palestine to New York via Paris. In an economy of dialogue that develops the potential of choreography, the story becomes tinged with dark humor, melancholy as well as lightness and comedy: “I feel like I absorb the political moment, the burlesque instant and the absurd character of the place.” A movie to be placed between those of Tati and Keaton, to the melodies of Yasmine Hamdan and Najat Essaghira.
