Thomas was Rachel’s operative. So, when Rachel disappears, the former Mossad agent has no choice but to go find her. An unrelenting spy movie that features a transfigured Diane Kruger, The Operative caused a sensation at the latest Berlinale. Screened exclusively at GIFF!

Based on a novel written by a former Israeli intelligence officer, The Operative delves inside the mind of an undercover agent to fathom his inner self. Shot in CinemaScope, the movie combines fiction with quasi-documentary realism. A spy movie far away from the usual clichés in which a rebellious pawn, in the midst of an identity crisis, emancipates himself from his mission. Diane Kruger is perfect. Featuring a soundtrack by Haim and Franck Ilfman.
