Gloomy lives in Woodland City. He is struggling to find his place in society. Not an easy thing when you’re a kid zombie. Showered with prizes in Sundance, SXSW and Annecy, Gloomy Eyes sets the immersive animation bar very, very high. A true heir to Tim Burton.

Gloomy Eyes is an animated VR series in three episodes produced by award-winning French studio Atlas V, already involved in several of the most innovative productions such as Battlescar, Spheres and Vestige (Reflet d’Or GIFF 2018). The series, narrated by Irish actor Colin Farrell, tells the adventures of Gloomy, a zombie kid living in Woodland City and struggling to find his place in a dark world dominated by the conflict between humans and zombies. This year, the first episode of the series lit up the Sundance festival and earned many awards, e.g. at SXSW, Festival international du film d’animation d’Annecy, and NewImages. Beyond the superb production, Gloomy Eyes shines with the quality of its animations and its immersive power, and confirms the expertise and talent of the French studio, a pioneer in the field of virtual reality.
