1966, in a small town in Chile's Atacama Desert, every day is the same except Sunday: people go to the movies. When money runs out, a child is asked to go alone. She proves particularly adept at recounting what she has seen.

"We are the fabric that dreams are made of" Shakespeare. Adapted from the novel written by Hernán Rivera Letelier, who himself lived and worked in the Atamaca mines, the filmmaker has taken up a project that Walter Salles was planning to realize. In Chile, in the world's driest desert, austere and spectacular, people not only watch the stars, they also go to the movies on Sundays. In 1966, in a small mining town, a family's ritual is disrupted by a tragedy. The father decides to send his daughter alone to the movies due to lack of money. She has a gift for recounting the films she's seen, from Spartacus to The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, and bringing them back to life for those who weren't there... "I think we're made of the same material as movies", or how, in an imperfect world, cinema can save your life.
