This is a first masterful foray into the series format for gifted filmmaker Kōji Fukada (Harmonium, Au revoir l’été) with The Real Thing, in which a young man is continually led back to a woman who never ceases to escape him. Featured exclusively and in its entirety at GIFF.

Kōji Fukada, filmmaker of the unconscious and disorder, stood out especially thanks to his very beautiful Harmonium, which was rewarded with the Jury Prize of the Un Certain Regard section a few years ago at the Cannes Film Festival. After featuring in Locarno with A Girl Missing, the author returned this year to Cannes with an ambitious project: The Real Thing. While there is a film version of it, it is its television version, and thus its complete version, that GIFF will feature exclusively.
