A strip club in Mississippi. Black dancers, a queer boss, restless nights… From the observation of this microcosm, activist Katori Hall draws a deliberately hard and hyper sexy series, which puts the finger on the violence of the American system against the underprivileged.
Mississippi, a strip club, its African-American dancers, shady audience and queer manager. Already acclaimed as one of the year’s top series in the United States, P-Valley is the adaptation by activist and playwright Katori Hall of her own play, Pussy Valley. In it, she describes in minute detail, with a Faulknerian sense of the human psyche, the rivalries, fears and hopes of these night workers, whose bodies are their only tools of production. Brilliant!
