In the face of the booming virtual reality industry, a growing number of artists have begun using this medium. Indeed, immersive technologies provide new opportunities and help bring to life the most innovative ideas. This roundtable discussion will reveal the creative ferment of a community inspired by the potential of virtual reality. It will also enable festivalgoers to meet with the artists selected by Geneva International Film Festival this year.

Adrián Regnier Chavez has received several grants, including the VR artistic residency program of the BBVA and the Centre de culture numérique (2018-2019) and the CENART multimedia centre's program to support media and artistic production and research (2016-2017). His work has been selected and awarded at more than 300 video art, animation and contemporary art festivals and biennials. In addition, his work is included in more than ten art collections around the world.

Karolina Markiewicz and Pascal Piron, Karolina Markiewicz and Pascal Piron
Karolina Markiewicz and Pascal Piron’s collaborative work creates links between film, virtual reality, visual arts and theatre. At the center is the individual person as part of a human community, oscillating between resignation and hope. Both work as artists and teachers. Their latest project: Sublimation, a location based interactive VR piece about creation, premiered at the 76. Venice International Film Festival.

Marc Lee
Marc Lee is a Swiss artist whose work focuses on real-time processing, computer-programmed audiovisual installations, AR, VR and mobile apps. His critical thinking covers creative, cultural, social, economic and political aspects. His works have been shown in major museums and new media art exhibitions such as ZKM Karlsruhe, New Museum New York, MMCA Seoul, Transmediale Berlin and Ars Electronica Linz.
