Paris, 1979. Two kids who are beautiful artists dance to disco and strike a pose at the Palace. They come across Lucille and Hubert, wealthy, blasé and cruel dandies. Eva Ionesco cleverly plays with autofiction, supported by the brilliant performances of Isabelle Huppert and Melvil Poupaud.
The Palace opened in 1978 with a show by Grace Jones and became the most popular club in Paris. In between Növo sets by Flesh and concerts by Jacno and Siouxsie, it celebrated Jim Morrison, Paloma Picasso and other Vêpres Laquées. Moviemaker Eva Ionesco, then aged 13, was welcomed with open arms in this playground, where life looks like cinema. Timeless autobiographical smooth talk about the loss of innocence seen through the eyes of an enfant terrible.
