Caravaggio, the most fascinating, disputed and turbulent painter of the Renaissance. Rather than addressing his work in a scholarly manner, the authors of this immersive tribute have chosen to create a whirlwind of crazy Caravaggio images in which to immerse and lose ourselves.
Caravaggio in Tenebris is a dizzying plunge into the imagination of Italian painter Michelangelo Caravaggio. In ancient Rome, the capital of all excesses, characters and details drawn from Michelangelo’s work are staged in a play of light (chiaroscuro) and architecture, in the places where the painter might have found them: on a street corner, a table in a tavern, in the secrecy of a room. Created by Matthieu Van Eeckhout and produced jointly by Atlas V and Arte France, this walk through the Roman night shows us some of the master’s most beautiful works.
